Metamagic Adept requires the ability to cast spells, so that's why fighter isn't taken at level 1.
I don't think Artificer Initiate is needed here because you already get Tools Required (Spellcasting) as a Artificer -- but it's probably technically necessary so you can cast your wizard spells as artificer spells.

Whenever we cast a spell using our Alchemist Supplies, add a bonus equal to your Intelligence modifier.
There's a small problem with this from a RAW point of view... Spell Focuses provide the material components to a spell and if the spell also has somatic components, you can use the spell focus to satisfy both. Why does this matter? Some cantrips, particularly Toll the Dead, don't use material components.

Could you make this build with a sorcerer instead? Why not remove the restriction on Eldritch Blast since that's probably a better path?
